Book of Psalms contains the highest number of chapters
The answer to this if thrown a question to anyone would be a quick and confident “book of Psalms” whiles the runner-up will be the book of Isaiah with a total of 66 chapters. The reason for this answer would be because the book of Psalms contains the highest number of chapters in the Bible; a whole 150 chapters. This may be a logical answer but having a critical look at the books contained in the Bible is very essential.
If we are to consider the book with the highest number of chapters, then we can say that the longest book of the Bible is the book of Psalms. However, when we talk about being long, then I believe it has to do with the total number of words of a particular book in the Bible.
No doubt, the book of Psalms is a long book containing many chapters in the Bible but it is to be noted that most of these chapters contain only a short psalms. Based on research, I have discovered two other books that are much longer in words than the book of Psalms.
Jeremiah is the longest book of the Bible by word count
In accordance to the word count, Jeremiah happens to be the longest book of the Bible with a word count of 33,002 words in the original language which is followed by the book of Genesis with a word count of 32,046 words before the almighty book of Psalms which is 30,147 words. On the top 5 list of the longest books in the Bible are yet Ezekiel and Exodus. Were you noticed all are Old Testament books?
